My husband and I watched the movie “Evan Almighty” the other night. In the movie, God, played by Morgan Freeman, explains to Evan how we can change the world. The solution is simple. The solution is straightforward. The solution is available to all of us. And in today’s world, as tragedies and crime and hatred escalate, we need the solution more than ever.
So how do we change the world?
“One act of random kindness at a time.”
An act of random kindness doesn’t need to be grandiose, or over the top. As Mother Teresa said, “We can do no great things—only small things with great love.”
What small thing can we do today with great love? What act of kindness can we do to help ease someone’s day? To help simplify someone’s life?
Therefore strengthen the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees. Hebrews 12:12
The world needs love and kindness right now. So let’s show a little kindness this week. Let’s try and change the world, one act of random kindness at a time.
“I shall pass through this world but once. If, therefore, there be any kindness I can show, any good thing I can do, let me do it now: let me not defer or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again.”
